LaMicro Theater’s Educational Program:
Provides art services to students of diverse backgrounds from elementary to high school. This program offers students a unique artistic experience with a life long impact. Through this program, students develop creativity, imagination and an authentic voice that helps them to enhance self-esteem, critical thinking, teamwork, cultural awareness, positive communication skills and academic performance.
La Micro Educational Program offers a flexible interdisciplinary curriculum in Dance and Drama taught by professional Bilingual (English/Spanish) teaching artists.
New York State Learning Standards in The Arts:
- Students will actively engage in the process that constitute creation and performance in the arts.
- Students will be knowledgeable about and make use of the materials and resources available for participation in arts in various roles.
- Students will respond and think critically about art.
- Students will develop an understanding of the personal and cultural forces that shape artistic communication and how arts in turn shape the diverse cultures of past and present societies.
